    OK, Matt, good stuff, EXCEPT!

The lens does NOT "GO DOWN" TO 1.4, IT "OPENS UP" TO 1.4. THE LOWER THE NUMBER, THE HIGHER THE F-STOP. The lenses "go down" to f22 or f32.

    Remember that--
SMALLER NUMBERS UP (AS IN OPEN UP)
BIGGER NUMBERS DOWN (AS IN CLOSES DOWN)

And you NEVER "STOP UP" a lens. Never.

Talking of crazy comparisons: How about a comparison between the Otus and the 50mm APO-Summicron? (Of course, you'd need a Leica body for the latter, so it wouldn't be a pure lens comparison but rather a system comparison.)
