Joe McNally - Inside the photographers Studio

Featured Saturday, 12 May 2012 12:58

Joe is one of the biggest names in photography, and I was honoured to get some time with him whilst on his tour of Australia.

I apologise this is quite short -- but he graciously fit me in for 10 minutes between 2 long presentations, without prior set up -- so we take what we can get!

Welcome to a new series of 1 on 1 chats / interviews with the leading photographers from Australia and beyond. I have lined up interviews with some huge names in the industry - get ready for some 'money can't buy' insights, opinions, stories and advice - from those that have done it all.

G'day Matt, really appreciate your tutorials, would love to join you in Vietnam but I will be in Hong Kong roughly the same week as your trip, bummer. I want to buy a D800 & 24-70 & 70-200 ( 2/3 of the trinity ) I'm writing to ask wether I should buy here in Oz or wait & buy in Mong Kok, will I (a) save a substantial amount of money, therefore subsidising the travel expenses, (b) find there is no D800 in stock when I arrive, (c) have a problem with warranty if I get in trouble with the gear back in Australia? Thank very much for all you do. I currently own a Nex5, saved enough for the Nex7 but have decided to take the plunge and go the DSLR route & really looking forward to it, Craig.
