My Gear #32 - Alex Alvarado

Todays bag contains a couple of sweet little mirrorless cameras. Tell us the what, why and how of your gear Alex...

When I want to carry everything I use the ManFrotto Agile V Sling camera bag. It's made for a DSLR and since I use mirrorless cameras it can easily fit everything with room to spare. The tripod is also by ManFrotto (393 Aluminium tripod with photo/video head) and can be secured on the side of the bag with the in place straps. Now for what goes inside, I have the Fuji X100 and a Nikon V1 + 3 lenses (10mm, 10-30mm, 30-110mm) + the little SB-N5 flash. I always carry a couple of micro fiber cloths and because the X100 seems to go through batteries faster than the V1 I carry one extra battery for it.

So how do I use my gear? Well, I love to travel and that's what initially got me into photography. I mainly use the Nikon with the 10mm (27mm equivalent) when I need speed, such as photographing my dogs, or a wider focal length than the 35mm equivalent of the X100. At night, I usually only use the X100. I honestly don't use the 10-30mm that much on the Nikon but the 30-110mm is very handy when I want to take a picture of a wild animal or something I'm not really wanting to get too close to. When I am just meeting up with friends I'll usually just bring a small shoulder bag and toss in the X100. That's pretty much it!

Short, sweet and to the point, thanks Alex.

Sorry, I mislabeled the bag. It's actually the Agile Sling II, not the V. Probably not all that important, but I just wanted to correct myself.
