At the end of the video you refer to the lens as the 24-30

i guess what he meant was he prefer the extra reach from 24-30 on the tamron than the nikor.

Thanks you for the review. Owning the Nikon 16-35 makes me feel, I should own a Tammy 15-30mm f/2.8 instead

Wish you could put out a image that compare the Nikon at 14mm with the Tamron at 15mm so we can see how much difference it is.

Hey Matt, I have the Nikon 14-24. While i do like it, I het the EXACT same flaring (double semi-circles) in the bottom corners opposite the sun. I don't like that at all. I may now consider selling my Nikon in favour of the Tamron. Thanks, I rent first though ;p

Hi Matt, another good video, thanks.

As a sometimes-wedding photographer and keen amateur, I'm considering getting this lens alongside the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8, and (controversially) NOT getting a 24-70.

Do you think this 15-30 and a 70-200mm could be used well together?

I'll be using one DX and one FX body, and probably keeping my 50mm 1.8G for low light and for when I must have something in that 30-70mm range.

If money and space was no object I've have every Nikkor lens in the catalog; but for my style I think I want to go minimal and learn to get the very best out of the glass I use.

Hey Matt, I'd love your work and been following you and many others like Gray Fong.
I've just watch your review on the Tamron 15-30mm VC and wow, the Tamron is giving me a hard on. well just want to let you know that I'm a fan of your work. The Tested you just perform was an excellent test if I'd say so myself. I'd have a Sony Alpha 77MK2 using the Rokinon T1.5 35mm, 24mm F2.8, 85mm F1.4,

    Thank You Matt.
I really enjoyed your review. I guess that settles it. I will be going with the Tamron. This will be my first Tamron lens. I was most concerned about flare issues and the new lens handles flare extremely well.

Loved the feed back about the Tamron 15-30. I own a Tamron 24-70 and have been very pleased with it in comparison to my husbands Nikon 24-70. As we both are shooters and need gear. I choose to purchase the less expensive lens after checking out your comparison to the 24-70's. Thank You So much! Now if you would please do so with Flashes. I currently am looking at an Altura Flash set vs another Nikon Flash....

    HI Matt,
Great video review as always. Unfortunately in the UK the Tamron is almost the same price as the Nikon. so it comes down the the use only. £929 from WEX. Hardly a 40% saving.

Hi Matt, thanks for the review. Great job! Did you have an opportunity to test the coma? This is a key feature for astrophotographers. Thanks again!

I've read that using filters with the Nikon 14-24 isn't possible without a complex set-up due to the bulge of glass at the front. Is this the same for the Tamron 15-30?

A year ago my Nikkor 14-24 damaged inside the backpack. Repaired perfectly now I'm selling to buy this Tamron 15-30 f2.8.
I was shocked for the delicacy of 14-24 and I hope that the new Tamron is more impact resistant.
Then the poor resistance to flare of 14-24 I never liked it and I hope the Tamron 15-30 will be better in this area.
Last thing I think the 15-30 focal is more useful than 14-24 and the VC is a value added.
